Text: Luke 4:1, 14, 18-21
Introduction: The Holy Spirit was active, very active in the life and ministry of Jesus. How active is the Holy Spirit in your life today? What does He mean to you personally? Today, let's examine the activity of the Holy Spirit in the life of Jesus Christ.
1. The Lord was conceived of the Holy Spirit . (Luke 1:35)
2. The Lord was anointed by the Holy Spirit at His baptism. (Matthew 3:16-17)
3. The Holy Spirit equipped Jesus for His Messianic Ministry. (John 3:34; Luke 3:32)
4. the Lord was full of the Holy Spirit and was lead by the Holy Spirit. (Luke 4:1, Matthew 4:1, Mark 1:12)
5. he performed His miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 12:28, Acts 10:38)
6. The Spirit was active in His crucifixion and His resurrection. (Hebrews 9:14, Romans 1:3-4, 8:11, 1Corinthians 6:14, 2Corinthians 4:14, 1Thessolosians 4:14)
7. When Jesus ascended, He requested of the Father that he would send the holy Spirit. (John 14:16, 18, 26, 15:26,16:7-15, Luke 24:29, John 20:22, Acts 1:8, 2:4)
Conclusion: Why did He send the Holy Spirit?
1. To give us power and strength to witness. (Acts 1:8)
2. To overcome the World. (John 14:27, 16:33)
